NYC Labor Day Parade 2011
Posted:
Thursday, August 25, 2011 | Our Labor Day Parade will be held on Saturday, September 10th, in New York City. The UAW will be in Sector 1 (West 44th Street and 5th Avenue) this year and we will begin marching at 10:15am and the Union will be providing special edition shirts for all of those that participate along with light refreshments. Let's have a great turn out! As such, we need to plan now and we are depending on you to sign-up with your Shop Steward by no later than Friday, August 26, 2011. If you have never attended a NYC parade, well this is the one you want to be at and you will enjoy marching with fellow union members' right up 5th Avenue through some of the most expensive real estate in the world. The UAW is marching directly behind the Uniformed Fire Fighters Association, UFA. This year's parade will be one day before the unfortunate 10th Anniversary of the September 11th. We will be joined by thousands of Fire Fighters and first responders from all around the country. So, make plans to join with your union along with hundreds of thousands of hard working Union Americans where we can show our respects for all of those that came before us in the Labor Movement and honor our fallen brothers and sisters that perished during the September 11th attacks. |
